Yakuza - first impressions.
Oct. 6th, 2006 10:10 pmSo, earlier in the week, I bought Yakuza, which finally completes my mission to own at least one game
rikoshi has worked on (Also, this marks the first time I have ever gotten a game that has the "Mature" rating. :O!!! Go fig.). Today I finally picked it up and played through the first chapter.
As a first impression, I think I'll like the story. It does have a "cinematic" feel thus far, which is good, since the game's trying to invoke a yakuza film atmosphere.
However, I also think that frankly, I'm going to suck at the fighting. I almost got killed in the last fight of the first chapter, as I'm not that good with many enemies in crowded spaces (at least, not in a game where you can't lock on too well on a character at a time, and have to pay attention to making combos as well). I think I'll eventually have to switch the difficulty level to Easy, heh...
Anyway, all I have to say is that thus far, it looks like it's gonna be a pretty good game, and the translation is great thus far. Great job, Rikki! :D
