Went yesterday to the movie theater to see I Am Legend with a friend of mine. Spoilerless review: We both found it to be as good as people on my friends list have been saying it was, and - if you didn't know this already from seeing even a little of the version of Six Degrees of Separation he starred in - it really does show that Will Smith has talent as a serious actor. Also, the freakin' dog was great, man. That was one seriously well-trained animal.

Today we got some pasteles and pernil from the lady that does me and my mom's hair. The pasteles were made by someone else, but the pernil was cooked by her - both were equally delicious. We also got some dulce de arroz (which I'm not that big a fan of) and a little bit of coquito from her to top it off - both were also quite tasty. Yum, holiday food is the best! :D

Anyway, now I will be heading shortly to my friend's apartment to celebrate the New Year with her and her family (and probably will drink more coquito there, since her mom was talking about possibly making some the other night :D), so I'll be ending this post with this: I want you all to know that I hope 2007 was kind to you (and if it wasn't, then I hope it was as benign as possible), and wish you all to have an even better 2008.

Cheers, to the New Year!

Well, today's bit of bad news is that I'm having car trouble, and of course, today being Sunday means that our mechanic isn't around and won't be able to take it and look at it until tomorrow. It's okay, though - I don't have any pressing matters to handle, so I can wait however long it takes to fix it.

The little bit of good news is that I managed to find the Mystery Science Collection vol. 5 at Borders today. Yay Merlin! :D

Just came back from seeing Snakes on a Plane with a friend. All I can say (without spoiling it) is, it was as delightfully, hilariously bad as I had hoped for, and it was made even better by the fact that, when the music video came out at the ending credits, the group of kids behind us started clapping to the beat. You know it doesn't get any more awesome in a theater when dealing with a cheesy movie than that.

Anyway, I sincerely hope that Mike Nelson will consider making a Rifftrax of it when it comes out on DVD. That would only make it better.

Yay stuff!

Just got back from the mall. After mailing off payments for some CDs from Game Music Online and Metropolis Records, I went to Borders and bought the Mystery Science Collection Vol. 4. Dude, I'd been wanting that volume for so long, as it has SPACE MUTINY in it. XD Now, to find volume 5, which has Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders and The Touch of Satan, which I've seen before and liked.

And now, a meme:

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 4 sentences on your LJ along with these instructions.

"This so inflated them that they did various dodgy things to get staying up still longer, such as demanding bandages; but Wendy, though glorying in having them all home again safe and sound, was scandalised by the lateness of the hour, and cried, "To bed, to bed," in a voice that had to be obeyed. Next day, however, she was awfully tender, and gave out bandages to every one, and they played till bed-time at limping about and carrying their arms in slings."

-from Peter Pan, by James M. Barrie

Okay, I know that's not 4 sentences, but it's the end of a chapter on that page, and that's the only amount of sentences found after the 5th one. And they're pretty long sentences and it's the nearest book I have, anyway, so nyah! ;P

I tag anyone who wants to do the meme.
