Eh, I've been meaning to post again after the deal with Omar, the Hurricane that Never Was* was done with, but since I haven't really been watching (Well, I did see like 3 more eps of Gintama last week, but I don't think I've seen enough to warrant another fangirling opinions/thoughts post yet.) or playing anything these past couple of days, I've been largely feeling uninspired to post. (I DID pick up Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia earlier today, tho', so I might start trying it out soon... I have an allergist appointment Thursday, so I might just fire it up during the wait at his office assuming I don't just go back to working on the second case of Ace Attorney 3, that is, heh...)

So, instead of a "real" post today, I'll just share this official Ace Attorney merchandise link I found that might interest... well, [livejournal.com profile] redconverse and [livejournal.com profile] arcian, at the very least: Volks, the well-known ball-jointed doll company, is making Ace Attorney series dolls action figures DOLLS action figures!

I thought the Ema one was the cutest of the lot, though Trucy is neat too. And I might've spoiled myself a little on Ace Attorney 4 by seeing Trucy's last name beneath her pic, LOL. Nick and Miles' figures are kind of too disconcertingly chibi in the facial design (Not to mention I'm not quite sold on those joints, eheh...), but they're still kind of squishy-adorable. And the unintentional flare on Mile's crotch area is hilarious.

Anyway... enjoy, y'all, and I'll try to post again soon, whenever I'm inspired!

* - You know, calling the storm by that title makes me think it should've been a weather pattern for the Nobodies' world in Kingdom Hearts 2, LOL. Also, in keeping with the Nobody theme, maybe it should be renamed to like... Maxor, or something. XD

The idea of the action doll figures is cool, but their joints look really weird, and unlike a "real" BJD, you can't cover them up with clothes, because their clothes are part of their molds. Unless those are just pictures of protoypes, I'm not that impressed.

Yeah, the joints are kinda wonky-bizarre, hence why I said I wasn't really sold on them yet. I still do find them cute in an ugly sort of way, but that may just be either the fangirl or the cheesiness-lover in me talking, LOL.

(Plus, I suppose that, if someone's enough of a fanperson to get these, he/she could always cover the mold up by making/buying clothes of their own... it would work on the Nick figure, at least, since that one's not really holding any props that might get in the way.)

I still stand by my thought that the Ema one's cute, though - I think it's the face (caught mid-snacking) that makes it. XD

YES BUT CAN WE SLAM HIS JUNK IN OBJECTION?!

Eeek, Trucy's face is pretty spooky.

These are super weird-looking, but depending on price (probably $20 or less) I wouldn't object to owning them.

You know, for those "personal" poses.

I OBJECT TO YOUR COCK IN MY FACE, PAL!

(...why did I just picture Gumshoe saying my subject line? He wouldn't complain if it was Edgeworth's cock, though, so I guess he's addressing Nick? >D)

I could see them going for $20 or less too, unless the figures are larger than usual - then I could see them try (emphasis on "try") to sell them for more.

I do, however, predict massive markup in price if anyone decides to try to import them (and they probably will - the Ace Attorney fandom seems to have more than enough devout fans, so there's some bound to be crazy devoted enough to get them). Ah well... if these sell well enough, maybe it'll inspire other figure-makers to create their own figures/statues for the series, and some of them might actually be pretty awesome? Hmm.

(Still standing by my thought that the Ema figure is cute, though, eheh. XD)

People in fandom_lounge on JF are saying that those usually go for upwards of $75 USD.

And I say FUCK THAT.

Holy crap, for reals? :O

Screw that, then! I could see paying $75 if they were one of those more "statue/sculpture"-type figures (They're usually made of PVC, I think? I know there are also resin kits, but those are even more expensive and also take either skill at building/painting or plenty of money to have someone else do it.) that are really super-detailed (and usually have either little or no articulation, since they're more sculptures than actual figures), and even then I'd have my doubts, depending on the sculpt's quality and size.

Anyway, I certainly hope that, for whoever's shelling out that kinda money for them, they better be very large figures (and hopefully far improved from these display models), or I'll bet they'll be left feeling pretty gypped. :O

I didn't much care for the figures--although the paint job is gorgeous but the ball-joints are horribly offputting and I collect the goddamn BJDs--but what I found most impressive when I had checked out that link was...

THE REPLICA OF EDGEWORTH'S OFFICE THAT WAS THE BOOTH FOR HIS NEW GAME

I mean seriously? That was some FRIGGIN' awesome shit. I would've loved to have been there for that. and totally stolen that coat off the wall

Hmm... yeah, the more I think about it, I believe it's the paint job that got my attention from the figures. Definitely not the joints, at least - as I said before, looking at them again, I'm still not sold on them, Nick and Miles in particular.

I do still find Ema's figure adorable, though. It's definitely the face, I think.

And LOL, yeah, the booth replica of Miles' office for TGS was awesome! They really went all-out for their promo of the game! (I just kinda wish the picture available was a little less dim in the lighting - but then again, I guess it might add to the ambiance of the "room.") I wonder if they had the other stuff you could find in his office aside from the coat in the wall, like the tea set or something (Since the game IS apparently pre-Ace Attorney 1, I don't expect to see the stuff Oldbag sent him, of course, but I'd expect he'd at least have the tea set, hee!), because that'd be awesome and I'd totally make off with it as well as the coat, LOL XD.
