aruruI sorta HAD some thoughts to jot down today today, but Wild Arms has efficiently melted my brain into forgetting what the hell I was going to say. ^^;;
Speaking of forgetfulness, I'm amazed at how much I'd forgotten I enjoyed about this game, despite it not being that many years since I last played. I used to have a great memory for content - for example: back in high school, I amazed two old companions once with all the irrelevant minor details about The Count of Monte Cristo I could remember well over a year after we were made to read that sucker, and I wasn't even particularly fond of that book or anything as such.
I guess I just haven't been excercising my brain like I used to, and as I should be doing. Bad me! ;_;
Anyway, back to WA - as I was saying, I keep noticing little things about it I had forgotten, and which I liked. For one thing, I had forgotten how ditzy/goofy Jack could be, or how much Lady Harken kicked butt. Actually, to clarify: it's not that I forgot that they (and the other charas) were cool, it's that I forgot just how much. Ah well, at least this means the game gets to feel almost new again to me. ^_^
(BTW, my current favorite non-vital-to-plot example of Jack being a ditz - when he gets the hint for the Trickster ability, he says to Hanpan how "we'd be like treasure hunters!", and Hanpan having to remind him that they already WERE. I keep getting this mental picture of Hanpan slapping his forehead with his tiny little paws in exasperation. XD)
Also, during replay, I still don't get why some people out there think Cecilia's annoying. Sure, she complains some about her position and the like, but I still find her less "whiny" than a lot of other characters (Oh hell, she whines a whole lot less than Tidus [as far as I've gotten in FF10, at least], if you ask me, and for less silly reasons than he does [not that it isn't funny, as I found it kind of endearing the way he does it], and they're the same age!). She's probably one of the best "adventuring princess" characters out there, in my book.
(And there's just no denying the cuteness of the scene where she makes friends with the Earth Golem [and thus activates it]. ^^)
Also.... aww, Red, we all love you too. Even if it is a pixellated love. ;)

And since that anime powers quiz's site is back online again, I get to annoy you all with my result!

Date: 2002-09-14 12:04 pm (UTC)... you're futher along than me in the game. But then again, I'm taking Jack and Rudy _everywhere_ before finishing the opening quests (including making them go to the abbey. >) and attempting to transcribe _aaaaaaaall_ the books in the game to make the WA Library. Why yes, I am quite mad, why do you ask? ^^
