Dude, I was just browsing through Amazon (Is it just me, or is their recommendation system on crack? No matter how much I mark off as owning, putting on my wishlist, or saying I'm not interested, it still tries to pitch me EVERYTHING THEY HAVE. Jesus.), and they have all the old, super cheesy Zelda cartoons in one set.

Ahahahahahahah that is AWESOME. XD

They also have the Super Mario Brothers Super Show, for that matter. Oh man, the memories of all that crap, heh. XD

Well excuuuuuuse ME, Princess!

*dies* Oh man, the memories! The memories!

My brother and I also had the very poorly-done comic books based off of the series...

There were comic books too? *LOL* Awesome. How bad were they?

Oh, pretty bad. Probably exactly what one would expect, to be honest.

Luckily, I happen to have issue #3 sitting around the apartment! Here's a page from a classic, moving tale. A tale of Link getting bit by Gannon..

Oh, so emotional...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. Oh god, that IS pretty bad. I like how Zelda looks so stiff holding Link in that last panel. XD

Maybe you should share that issue with [livejournal.com profile] scans_daily. I'm sure they'd appreciate the crack-addled nostalgia trip.

Aw man, I have the Zelda box set! It is so terribly awesome. I remember when I had to travel for training, I saw it in the Suncoast at a nearby mall. I just about died right there!

And yeah, the good ol' Nintendo Comics System comics... I never had a lot of regular issues, but I have some anthologies. One for Mario, and another for just a grab bag of series. Man, those were great times...

The only Nintendo comics I ever saw were the ones that sometimes appeared in Nintendo Power, the earliest which I recall being the Howard and Nester comic.

Good times, good times. XD

I will fully agree that the Amazon recommendation system is on crack. This is the system that recommended "Brokeback Mountain" to me because I indicated I owned "The Lady and the Tramp." This is also the system that when a friend on my purchased some furniture off of someone's wedding registry on Amazon, he forever after recieved recommendations for baby clothes.

CRACK! CRACK!

Brokeback Mountain because you owned The Lady and the Tramp?! Holy shit, wow. At least (up to now) the system has recommended things that were actually RELATED IN SOME WAY to me. ^_^;

And... *LOL* I hope your friend isn't a childfree folk, or that would probably be quite annoying to him. Heh. XD

Yeah that one blew my mind. Previous to that, the winner for weirdest recommendation was Amazon offering me a gas grill because I owned a PS2. Play with it long enough, check the "Why was I recommended this?" option, and you'll find some odd balls as well.

He's not adamantly against children. He's just a dedicated bachelor who has decided it's not for him. He's more amused by the whole thing. ^^
