Hey, [livejournal.com profile] redconverse, I was looking around to see what kind of Persona (mostly for the upcoming P4, as most of the P3 stuff seems to be long gone) swag there is out there aside from soundtracks, and I found this adorable little fellow up for preorders, and immediately thought of yoooooooooouuuuu... (As well as like, maybe half the Flist, eheh... but I totally thought of you first! ^^;;)

It says it's planned for release on November, so you might want to hunt through your local comic/import shops or cons around that time to see if you can nab one! :D

If you run a search for "Persona" on that site, a couple of other goods come up, including some for P3 (Though most are sold out, sadly, like this rather nifty-looking phone strap (http://www.animaxis.com/en/shop/product.asp?sku=152066%2D00), there are still things like the trading cards.) as well as stuff for the Persona -trinity soul- anime. (BTW, have you or someone whose taste you trust seen that? Because I was kinda curious about it and wanted to know if it was worth downloading/watching... after I get around to restarting AND ACTUALLY FINISHING P3/Fes this time, of course. ^^;;)

I also saw a few other P4 goods on CDJapan's site (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp), though most of it was shirts of the P4 "pet/mascot" character (Kuma), as well as the soundtrack (which was where I got my copy from, actually). Nothing as cute as the few P4 items on Animaxis (the site I first linked - too bad it's credit card/Paypal only, or I'd preorder both you and myself that Jack Frost plush! :O).

*kinda wants that P3 phone strap too, even though her phone doesn't seem to have a place to attach it to, LOL* *is consumerist whore, haha* :(

Regarding the Persona -trinity soul- anime, I watched a couple of episodes, and it seemed okay-ish... Though you have to keep in mind that for anything based off a video game, if it doesn't make you want to stab yourself, it's doing pretty good for itself.

As for how it is when it gets going, I don't think I've ever seen fansubbers quit (http://www.otakara-island.com/forum/index.php?s=&showtopic=3043&view=findpost&p=82777) because they couldn't stand it (http://forum.shinsen-subs.org/showthread.php?t=3803) before.

Apparently at least one non-Velvet Room-affliated P3 character puts in a definite appearance before it's all said and done though, so if that's all that's keeping you watching it, there's that.

Ahahahaha... yeah, that sounds pretty bad, that fansubbers would be so pissed at an anime that they'd drop it mid-series. Sadpants. :(

I also just recalled that [livejournal.com profile] ruaki had long ago posted a few entries on her JournalFen blog with her observations on the anime, and IIRC, she said that it was "best viewed as an AU and not a 'real' sequel to P3." Which I guess is a "halfway" vote against it, too. Too bad. :(

And yeah, from reading her JF, I got spoiled as to whom the non-Velvet Room P3 chara that shows up is - in fact, IIRC, she thought that was the one "saving grace" of the series, LOL. (And somehow, I wasn't really surprised it turned out to be who it was - he's pretty popular, after all. XD)

But anyway, thanks for the info! :D So I take it that Shinsen and Otakara are the fansubbers to go to for at least the early eps, or did anyone who's good actually stick to it to the end?
